On October 3rd, 2021, the sixth annual MARSH PAMYATI will be held in Kyiv to honor the victims of the Babyn Yar tragedy.
80 years have passed since the beginning of the biggest shooting in the human history. In just two days in 1941, on September 29-30, more than 33,000 Kyivans, most of whom were Jews, were shot dead by the Nazis in Babyn Yar. The massacres lasted until the liberation of Kyiv. In all, more than 120,000 men, women and children died.
Participants of the Marsh Pamyati gather on Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 at 12:00 in the square in front of the Kyivska Rus cinema and Marsh in a column to Babyn Yar for honoring the memory of the victims and remind the world that this should not happen again.
MARSH PAMYATI is an initiative of one person which grew into a mass social project. The organizers are German businessman, poet and public figure Ewgeni Gorodetski and activist Dmytro Yurinov.
Participants of the Marsh Pamyati of the past years are residents of Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Odessa, Chernihiv, Bila Tserkva, Dnipro, Kharkiv and other cities; representatives of other nations of Ukraine and other countries, diplomatic staff, representatives of Jewish communities of Ukraine and the world, employees of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center, students of Jewish and German schools, Ukrainian and international media.
In 2021, the organizers expect about 700 people to participate, including children – students of Jewish schools in Bila Tserkva, Myrhorod, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Vinnytsia and Kyiv.

12:00 — participants of the Marsh gather in the square near the cinema “Kyivska Rus” on Sichovykh Striltsiv st, 93
12:15 — the organizers brief the participants on the honoring route and rules of conduct during the Marsh 12:20 — participants march in a column to the monument “Menorah” in Babyn Yar (Kyivans followed the same route in 1941 to their deaths)
13:30 — in Babyn Yar, an invited rabbi reads a funeral prayer
13:45 — The Marsh ends.
